Mae Mai the Elephant

  • Mae Mai was chosen as the focus of this drawing as a symbol of strength, hope, and perseverance. She is a 31-year-old female Asian elephant that dislocated her knee while working in the logging industry in Thailand. When found, she was in immense pain, struggled with illness, and was malnourished from poor living conditions. With the support of Gentle Giants, Elephant Nature Park, and Bionic Pets, Mae Mai continues to be rehabilitated and the FIRST EVER elephant knee brace was created to support her mobility. This is just one example of the many ways that these organizations are supporting these amazing animals.
